Meet Dr. Gus
For 25+ years, Dr. Gus J. Spatharakis has worked with people whose energy, focus, and resilience had quietly collapsed under modern demands. His functional medicine approach is grounded in physiology, not trends, focused on rebuilding the body's core systems for people who can't afford to run on empty.
- The Founder
Dr. Gus
He's spent his entire career studying why the human body breaks down — and how to rebuild it. Althion is what he built when he ran out of answers to recommend.
Clinician of His Class
Before Dr. Gus ever set foot in a clinic, he spent eleven years studying the human body through a different lens — the martial arts. Eight different styles. Third-degree black belt in each. Hundreds of students trained. He knew how the body responds under stress before he ever opened an anatomy textbook.
Born in Crete and raised in the United States after his family emigrated in 1975, he earned his Bachelor of Science from Loyola University of Chicago in 1995 and his Doctorate of Chiropractic from National College of Chiropractic in 1999. At graduation he was named Clinician of His Class — the highest honor awarded to interns for clinical skill, work ethic, and patient care.
Since then, he’s logged over 1,400 hours of post-doctoral training in Applied Kinesiology, studying directly under the field’s founders and legends — including George J. Goodheart, David Leaf, and Daniel H. Duffy Sr.
Althion is the formulation he built after a quarter-century of clinical practice convinced him that most energy products treat symptoms, not causes. His clinical philosophy is simple: fix the systems underneath, and the symptoms resolve. The energy holds. The improvement compounds year after year, instead of fading after a few weeks. He set out to formulate the protocol he wished he could recommend. This is it.
